ClearCorrect: How Does it Work?

We're proud to offer a variety of treatment options at our office ranging from traditional metal braces to convenient alternatives, but unlike many practices, we offer ClearCorrect clear aligners instead of Invisalign. Patients often ask us about the difference between Invisalign and ClearCorrect, so we want to use this blog to shed some light on this common question. 

What Is ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect works using the same basic mechanism as Invisalign. Instead of the metal brackets and wires of traditional braces, ClearCorrect uses a series of clear, removable plastic trays - called aligners - to straighten the teeth. These aligners fit directly onto the teeth and are virtually invisible when worn, and they're easy to remove for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene. For adult or adolescent orthodontic patients looking for a discreet, convenient orthodontic treatment, ClearCorrect offers an excellent option. 

What's the Difference Between ClearCorrect and Invisalign? 

So if ClearCorrect and Invisalign are so similar, what is the difference? As it turns out, few things separate the two treatments aside from name. Both ClearCorrect and Invisalign come with the following advantages:

  • Virtually invisible when worn
  • Easy to remove for eating, oral hygiene, and special occasions
  • No dietary restrictions
  • Oral hygiene is easy
  • Improved comfort during treatment

    But there are a few minor differences between the two. Here are some of the differences between Invisalign & ClearCorrect:
     
  • Invisalign normally requires 30 sets of aligners, while ClearCorrect is closer to 32 sets.
  • ClearCorrect separates aligners into three or eight phases in a way Invisalign doesn't.
  • ClearCorrect tends to be less expensive than Invisalign: because you aren't paying for the brand name, you often get the same treatment at a lower cost.
